Spiders do what spiders do. We've been battling spider bites and it is so easy for me to get mad at the spider - then I have to remember that this is what has happened as a result of sin entering into the world. Even though we had a woods outside our balcony and we certainly had spiders inside our apt in Arkansas - not once was Matthew bitten! We've been here seven weeks - and within the past week and a half - he's had six bites - all from the "safety" of his bedroom.
The one that you don't see on his ankle was bad enough to raise his temp to 102.3 on Tuesday. The one on his upper cheek this morning was the last straw. It looks a lot better in the picture than when it did when he first got up. Thankfully we were able to get into a doctor this morning. Matthew is getting started on antibiotics for the first time in his little life and we're doing Benadryl three times a day.
Right now, he's napping on our bed while his bedroom "airs out" from all of the - supposedly - nontoxic bug spray and his bedding is coming out of the dryer.

poor little guy...I must applaud the fact that he has not been on AB's till now. Christopher was like that, too. But then with Matthew and his asthma, it was unavoidable...and I can't even talk about Michael!! there isn't enough room here!
yes....life in a fallen world...but also full of grace that you can take him to a doctor!!
by the way, Michael has the SAME SHIRT!! and the older boys have the shirts that match! great taste!
Poor MTE....Grandma and Grandpa are sorry... Glad he has good parents to take care of him - and antibiotics as well.....when needed! Give him a hug and kiss from us....:o(

Aaaw, poor little guy! I have 2 that react big time to bites like that, too. And, yes, it is very frustrating when it happens in your own home! So thankful that his reaction was not worse and that you were able to get meds for him. Praying he is better soon!
