Swimming at the Y

Matthew is done swimming for the year! We so thankful for the progress that he made this last month! Jumping in the deep end with the smallest amount of help (the instructors let go of his finger as he jumps) and not crying about it, as well as getting his head wet. We are proud of him. This last night they taught boat safety - so all of the kids loved the time in the boat!

Thanksgiving week 2012

We had a lovely Thanksgiving. The weather was mild, which always makes life a little easier. Just a few pictures were taken. We were so happy that G'ma and G'pop H came!! Matthew and Grandpop were twins and Matthew and Grandma played a lot of bowling!

Election day 2012

Today is election day. (Never mind the bed head and out of focus pictures) Matthew says - "Vote for Ellie!"

Trick-or-Treat 2012

Halloween 2012 has come and gone. The weather was a bit dreary, but he still got to go around the neighborhood with friends and had a fun time at school.

Fun with Dick and Jane

Matthew finished reading his first book, "Fun with Dick and Jane;" it is a first grade reader. He was so excited to complete it today! Great job, Matthew!! Thanks, G'ma and G'pop H. for the books!

The Fall Fives

There are six birthday buddies that celebrated turning five yesterday. They start turning five in September and finish with Matthew in December. Matthew loved his racetrack birthday cake. The kids had a blast at their party!

Matthew is getting more mileage out of his trick or treat costume! We enjoyed that last warm days and getting the leaves raked!

Preschool field trip - Fall 2012

Today was field trip day for Matthew's school. We had great weather and a wonderful time! The hayride was a favorite - especially when we went down a big hill fast - we thought it made a good roller coaster. The cider and doughnut at the end wasn't too bad, either.

Soccer - Fall 2012

This Fall is Matthew's first time playing soccer. He loves it! Mark is even the coach!

Grandpop E. and the Fair

Grandpop E. is the reason we went to the Fair. Grandpop spends many, many hours working before the fair and the week of the fair. Thank you, Grandma and Grandpop, for everything that you gave so that we could come to the fair this year!! We love you!
