Potter Park Zoo

It was a beautiful day to go to the zoo! We went up to Lansing after Matthew's nap. The best part about the zoo was that it only cost us the $4 parking fee to get in since we had a Little Rock Zoo membership and Potter Park is a reciprocal zoo!

Matthew enjoyed the peacocks roaming around the zoo the most. I think Mark and I enjoyed see the tiger and lion sleeping - looking like Mackey and Moe. Afterwards, we went to the Lansing Mall to check it out - as you can see, Matthew enjoyed the big cookie that we all split.

Mr. Potatohead sits on the potty

This is what I found when I came around the corner! How he thinks of these things, I'll never know! :o) This is about the most interest that he's shown in his potty chair of late.

Our kitchen

BEFORE

AFTER

Whew! Has it been so long since I posted an entry! Things have been a little busy. Here is a little preview of our house here in Michigan.

No other rooms are ready for an "unveiling". This is probably the room that I'm most excited about - simply because of the difference in the look from when we moved in last week. I can't take much credit other than picking out the colors and painting the island. My wonderful in-laws helped us move in and between the two of them - they got this project completed!

I don't know if the previous owners were planning on doing anything or not - he's been a painter - and did a great job of painting everything else. I'm just going to assume that they hadn't gotten to the cabinets yet.

The kitchen is probably from the 60's or 70's by looking at the cabinets and stove. The dishwasher, fridge and floor have obviously been replaced. We've already put in a lot of $$ to repair the garage roof(that cracked and caved in when the roofers were taking off the shingles), ordered a sectional and bought a new mattress set so we can put a bed in the guest room(hint, hint). Getting new cabinets and counters and stove are not an option for several years. At least I can live with it now.

More pictures will be coming in the future - I promise!

Faceplant

Matthew had his first faceplant at the playground this morning. Mostly grass with a little gravel - better than the reverse!
