Going green-er

This is a call out to everyone who reads my blog. Mark and I are trying to "do our part".

I realize that going greener is sometimes cheaper(using white distilled vinegar to mop) and sometimes it's not.

What I want are your ideas.........what are some things that you do?

Happy Anniversary!!

Working on a rollover!

I looked down at Matthew after I put him on the mat after his breakfast - and - whoa - he's getting close!

Fun with Grandma and Grandpa!!

Grandpa was making Matthew smile!

Don't leave Grandma and Grandpa!!

Content to be with Grandma and Grandpa!

Thanks for the grill - and for grilling!!!

Morning with Grandma and Grandpa

Grandpa and Matthew

We had a wonderful time with Grandma and Grandpa!! Sadly, they left this morning.

We all went to Little Rock on Monday and Hot Springs on Tuesday. Matthew was a trooper! These were his first trips there!

We stayed in town yesterday so Matthew could get good naps while my parents ran around town a bit.

Mom and Dad brought their old grill for us, too - that was a wonderful treat! Our old grill was stolen a few months before our move down here - so, we've been missing those hamburgers! Thanks Mom and Dad for your generosity!!!

We wish we were closer to both sets of our parents!!

Three months old!

I'm three months old today! I can sleep through the night now - Mommy or Daddy feed me around 6 or 6:30pm and then wake me up at 10 or 10:30pm and then I usually sleep well until 4 or 5 - I start stirring - but I'm really not awake until 7 or so. They like that a lot! I eat 4-6oz around every 4 hours!

I usually wake up happy from naps - esp. in the morning! Lots of things make me laugh - playing with my mouth, lightly rubbing my head, singing to me. I'm making new sounds, too. The past few days, I've started making this noise - somewhere between a grunt and a squeal when I'm on my belly - it's a happy noise - most of the time. I like to push up with my hands so I can look around. I also like looking around when I'm on Mommy or Daddy's shoulder. Everyone tells them that I'm very curious and alert looking - that I look at them like they're crazy - but I look at Mommy and Daddy like that, too. :o)

Mommy and Daddy know I'm getting tired when I try to "swim" or when I start trying to eat my fist. I still prefer sleeping on my belly. I'm starting to drool more, too. I think they're going to have to start putting a bib on me - that's okay, I have lots of cool bibs.

Mommy and Daddy like taking me out in my stroller for walks since it's been warming up here - I usually sleep, but sometimes I notice the trees. They're also taking me with them when they eat out - it's okay for a little bit - then I get bored and get fussy - but at least that means that I get picked up - and I like that!!

I'm very excited right now because Indiana Grandma and Grandpa are coming down to see me on Sunday and are going to stay until Wednesday!! I haven't seen them since Christmas when they bailed Mommy and Daddy out! We'll have lots of fun!!

Reality

The time is drawing nearer for me to start work. Where that is, I don't know, yet. I've been checking around town - and there's nothing here that I know of - not even at the hospital. I had reluctantly come to accept my fate of working night shift at the hospital but all they have are full time positions.
A few more weeks and Mark and I have to decide about the possibility of commuting. With gas prices the way they are - it would probably mean working at a hospital in another town/city. As far as I can imagine - that would be the only way to get enough $$ to make it remotely possible to commute.
Honestly speaking, this has been a big struggle for me. I would love to be able to stay at home - but, we'll never build up any kind of savings. The university hasn't really shown that they value these newer hires - that's frustrating to me - esp. when Mark's boss occaisionally mentions to Mark about us "needing" to buy a house. He's been there for 30 or so years, is single and has a great house, I'm told. I doubt that he has a concept of what it's like to live on what Mark makes. I could easily be making more money than Mark if I just worked full time at a hospital. I was making about what Mark makes now seven years ago when I left the hospital! It just doesn't seem right to earn a PhD and make as much as a BS makes. Thankfully, we don't have student loans to deal with - I can't imagine what that would do to the equation.
I need to keep working on being thankful that I don't have to work full time to make ends meet - that is a good thing.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

PA Grandma & Grandpa sent this for Matthew. I had to get a picture with his feet(one says "kiss me" the other "I'm Irish"). I am a little Irish - so, it works :o)

I tried it

A tall, double shot, nonfat honey latte with no whip.
I consider myself to be pretty adventerous when it comes to trying new foods. With that being said - it was okay - not disgusting like one of SooAnn's friend's thought. I wouldn't say that I need to get another one - but it was okay.

Happy birthday, Grandma!!

I love you!!

Tastes like chicken!

Matthew - as you can see - is doing much better at getting his fist in his mouth :o)
We had his baby dedication at church yesterday and this cute little outfit is what
he wore. Even though it was during naptime - he did just fine. Sundays really mess him up - he doesn't get that morning nap - and we paid for it!! Poor guy.

CAUGHT!

It took me long enough - but I finally captured a smile!!

Greeat idea Molly!

Thanks to Molly's blog - I can be notified via e-mail when blogs have been updated - instead of going through my list and checking. This new site is now on the right hand side of my blog - in the middle - you can "subscribe" to any blog that you want to.

There is hope!

This was Matthew at 4:30 and again at 5:30!! He didn't wake up to eat until almost 6!! I felt bad for putting him back in bed, but Mark and I don't want his official morning to start until around 8. He eventually did fall back to sleep. :o)

Office visit

I had to do some work on Mark's computer - this is Matthew's first visit(of many to come) to Daddy's office. :o)
