Loomin' time

G'ma H bought Matthew a loom!! We had fun with our first pot holder - it was definitely a team effort!

G'ma & G'pa H were here!

We had a great time with G'ma and G'pa H!! We did lots of fun things - we went to Ann Arbor, an Amish community a couple of times, St. Vincent's and even a Fall Festival!! As you can see, Matthew greatly enjoyed the time, too! We're looking forward to the next visit :o)

Apple picking 2014

Our field trip today was going to an apple orchard. This is the same one that we went to last year. We actually picked apples this year! The doughnuts were as good and warm as we remembered. I fear that those turkeys will end up on someone's dinner table in a few months!

First day - first grade

First day of first grade!! For our first field trip - Matthew wanted to go bowling. We invited our friend, Carole, to come along. She won both games but we had a lot of fun!

Lugnuts

Friends from church invited us to a Lugnuts baseball game! It was fun! Matthew and his buddy, Noah, made it on the the jumbo-tron with his #1 fan foam finger! The night ended with fireworks. Too bad that the Lugnuts lost!

Lake Michigan

We made another quick trip over to Lake Michigan before Labor Day weekend. It was a lot warmer this time around - but still a bit chilly in the water.

2014 Summer Vacation #2

Mark had research to do at the Library of Congress - this gave us a great opporunity to go to G'ma and G'pa E's as well as Washington D.C. This was Matthew's first time there - he enjoyed the Metro, the Air and Space Museum and the pool at our hotel!! On the way back from D.C. we stopped by Gettysburg for a few hours. We had fun climbing the rocks at Devil's Den. Uncle Brad took him shooting one afternoon. We found out that Matthew is a pretty good shot!
