Hot Air Jubilee
Matthew, our friend, Carole, and I went to the area's hot air balloon festival in the evening for the evening glow. It was a lot of fun! Some really beautiful balloons that we got to see. Sunday morning you could see some balloons from our house!

2014 Summer Vacation #1
Mark had a conference at the end of June in Lexington, KY. Matthew always loves staying in hotels! I had fun taking him to Berea, KY. I had been there years ago with Mom and Dad. Afterwards we went to Cincinnati for a night and then over to G'ma and G'pa H's in Indiana. We got to do lots of fun things in Indiana.
I discovered why my dad always asks for "a little" dessert - you can see what happened when he didn't specify that (just kidding - that was the peanut butter pie mixing bowl).
We were able to head to New Harmony for an afternoon. We also got to go to lots of the usual places that we enjoy when we visit - going to places that I grew up going as well as discovering new places.
One of the funnest - Holiday World and Splashin' Safari. The weather was perfect! We spent most of the day in the water park and all came home red - despite the free sun screen. We don't have any pictures because we put everything in a locker for the day. It was great not having to carry around my purse for once!
We were looking forward to being there for the 4th of July. Mom and Dad had the neighbors over for a cookout - we all had a wonderful time. The evening was topped off with fireworks - the ones that Mark bought and the big ones from the neighbor.
We had a wonderful time - sorry that it is over because we looked forward to it for so long! So thankful for the time together!

The 50's Spring Concert
The theme of Matthew's school's spring concert was 1950's rock-n-roll. For as much as he said he didn't want to participate - he looked like he was having a great time up there. Good luck in finding him in the finale song with the entire school. It's like finding Waldo. Mark and I had fun trying to find all of his buddies in all of the other grades.
The QU wedding
Matthew went to his first wedding. The Q and U got married at school! They had a ceremony and a reception with dancing and everything. You can see that he took his duties seriously. His buddy grabbed him when the dancing started. They did the chicken dance, the Y-M-C-A, the Hokey Pokey and a line dance among others. I had fun dancing with him, too!
I mustache you a question.....
This was Matthew's reward for completing the reading challenge at school in March. He seemed quite comfortable with it!
